A man and baby dodge bullets outside a restaurant in Clayton County

An Uber Eats driver said she and her family are lucky to be alive after a shooting outside a Clayton County saloon.

Kristy asked FOX 5 not to use her last name. Her husband and baby were sitting inside their SUV when he was hit by multiple bullets. Someone opened fire in the parking lot outside the IceBar lounge and restaurant on West Fayetteville Road in Riverdale early Saturday morning.

“That’s where my daughter was sitting, the door where my daughter was sitting. My first thought was that she had been shot,” Kristy said. “Instead of going straight, it entered the panels at the back of my seat, missing it by inches and through my front seat.”

The wife and mother of four works for Uber Eats to support her family. Her husband and baby were with her when she went to the establishment to pick up an order.

“I had just received the food when I saw people jumping,” Kristy said, “jumping over chairs.”

Kristy asked us not to use her last name. She said her husband called her, telling her something was wrong and she had to get out of there. She heard gunshots outside the parking lot as she ran for the exit, so she took refuge in the toilets until club security told them it was safe to leave. .

“I was running towards the vehicle and I saw the shot, the side of my daughter’s door and I just grabbed her. I look at her. I check for blood if she was shot .”

At least three bullets hit Kristy’s vehicle.

Miraculously, her husband and baby escaped unscathed.

“Thank you Jesus, I saw my daughter sleeping peacefully. She had been sleeping through it all. She is fine. She is alive. My husband is fine and no one was hurt,” Kristy said.

Clayton County police said multiple vehicles were damaged in the shooting. No one was hurt. The search for suspects continues.
