Customer tips restaurant employees $ 16,000 :: WRAL.com

A New Hampshire restaurant thanks the mysterious man who recently left thousands of dollars in tip.

It was business as usual at the Stumble Inn Bar & Grill in Londonderry – when a customer sat alone at the outside bar.

The unpretentious boss ordered a few hot dogs, fried pickles, and cocktails.

But when it came time to pay, things changed.

The tab was just over $ 37.

What about the tip? 16,000 dollars!

The customer assured the restaurateur the amount was correct, saying he just wanted to do something good for the staff.

“[The bartender] picked up his tab and looked at it, and said, ‘Oh my god. Are you serious? Is that bad ? Are you serious?’ And he said, ‘No. I want you to have it. And then she told the other girls, and they all went to thank him, ”said Mike Zarella, the restaurant owner.

Michelle McCudden, who received the tip, said: “I’ve been doing this for a very long time, and I never thought something like this would happen to me.”

She said it gave her faith in humanity back after a difficult year.

The staff share all tips, so the eight waiters will split the money and also share it with the cooks.

As for the top-of-the-range bucket?

He wants to remain anonymous.
