Fast food burglar arrested

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – – An accused serial burglar is behind bars after police chased him for weeks.

Orlando McAdory was arrested this week after investigators said he broke into nine businesses in Memphis this month. Six of them were fast food restaurants.

Investigators say McAdory drove to each after-hours fast food restaurant and broke into the drive-thru window before heading to a cash register or safe.

In total, police say he stole more than $3,000.

Investigators also say McAdory broke into a tobacco shop, bakery and the Millbranch Fish Market in Whitehaven where he was unable to steal anything but caused extensive damage.

Jérôme Brent knows the owners.

“They don’t deserve what happened,” Brent said. “They are good people. They just made me a plate of fish for my birthday.

Luckily, McAdory was caught on CCTV at numerous businesses, including a Little Caesars in Austin Peay. In many cases, police say his gray Volvo was also spotted.

Police found McAdory in this Volvo on Tuesday as it was parked outside a home in southwest Memphis. He is currently charged with nine counts of burglary.

“He can do the crime and do the time,” Brent said. “I have to find a job. I can’t get anything for free.

Investigators say McAdory also stole a car battery from Advance Auto Parts. He is due in court next week.
