No one likes to hear that ice cream machines are broken, especially right before National Ice Cream Day.
A TikTok user recently posted a video poking fun at both McDonald’s reputation for ice cream machines and “Fast and Furious” movies. Although the video has gone viral, it also apparently caught the attention of another fast food restaurant.
TikTok user Guillaume Kelly posted a video on his account that shows him pretending to order three ice cream cones at a McDonald’s. In the video, the cashier responds that the machine is broken. Kelly then responds that her family wanted ice cream.
The video suddenly changes speed and the cashier transforms into Dominic Toretto, the character of Vin Diesel in the “Fast and Furious” movies. He replies that family is “everything” and that he is going to fix the machine. The video is part of a current trend of online memes that joke about how seriously the characters in the film take the concept of “family.”

The video has been viewed over 11.6 million times. At least one of the opinions came from the Jack in the Box fast food chain.
The official account of the rival restaurant chain commented: “Unfortunately, even the family is not strong enough to fix their machines.”
Kelly responded, tagging McDonald’s and asking “are you going to take this?”
Jack in the Box also posted a video on his TIC Tac account that shows a building that appears to be a McDonald’s, although the image is altered to blur the logos. The video reads, “We heard someone’s ice cream machine is broken.”
