AVON – A new place to eat in Avon hopes to offer people something a little different.
“Our breakfast sandwiches and coffees are just elevated but still affordable and just as convenient,” said Kaylie Sturnick, who, along with her brother-in-law, recently opened Route & Roost.
The restaurant is located at 6105 East Avon Lima Rd.
Sturnick said the restaurant was not a restaurant but rather a cafe-style restaurant.
“It’s a take-out game and people can confidently choose a healthier version of what you could do for Dunkin or Tim Horton’s or something, we want to be everyone’s new Dunkin,” said Turnick said.
Route & Roost is a breakfast and lunch cafe with a focus on bringing clean, affordable food to the community. Their core concept revolves around taste, nutrition, community and family.
The menu includes items such as biscuits and gravy, French toast, a breakfast plate and for lunch there is everything from a grilled chicken sandwich to a Nova Scotia shrimp roll. England.
“It’s the void we’re trying to fill here, healthy, quality food that you can’t find anywhere else. Nothing comes out of a jar here, everything is made from scratch. Everything is homemade, it all starts with the ingredients and then it all comes together with the perfect blend of flavors,” Sturnick said.
The restaurant is open from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Sturnick hopes to add weekend hours in the future.
Sturnick said she hoped more people would stop by for a delicious meal that was not only healthy but also affordable.
“You don’t even know you’re eating healthy when you eat here,” she said, “but you do because the food tastes so good.”
