Shane Beamer gets into the spirit of Halloween.
South Carolina Head Football Coach tweeted a photo of himself on Halloween Sunday morning disguised as a Chick-fil-A employee. Beamer tagged the company’s Twitter account, which appears to be dormant on Sunday. The Atlanta-based fast food chain is known to be closed every Sunday.
Beamer praised SEC network presenter Peter Burns in his Halloween tweet. Burns created a ranking list for Halloween on Friday on his radio and television show “SEC This Morning.”
“@ChickfilA Trying to increase your Halloween power rank @PeterBurnsESPN !! #HappyHalloween #MyPleasure,” Beamer tweeted, shrugging and hanging 10 emojis.
Beamer’s costume included a black Chick-fil-A hat, a red and white striped shirt, and a personalized name tag that read “Coach Beamer.”
The tweet about Beamer’s costume was a response to a September viral post in which a Twitter user guessed what every SEC head coach would do for a living if they didn’t train. This tweet predicted that Beamer, known for his upbeat demeanor, would be a Chick-fil-A franchisee.
In September, a Twitter user posted: “Chick-fil-A Director here who can confirm Coach (Beamer) has the makings of a CFA operator.”
“Yes !! I really hope this head coach thing works, but it’s good to know I have a potential fallback option !!” Beamer retweeted with a laughing emoji.
The Beamer Gamecocks (4-4, 1-4 SEC) return from their open house week to welcome Florida to Williams-Brice Stadium this Saturday. South Carolina faces the Gators at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
