Untold Brewing will open a second dining hall and restaurant in Hingham this week

HINGHAM – A Scituate-based, Duxbury-based brasserie and meal delivery service will open a combined dining room and restaurant in Derby Street shops this Friday. Untold Brewing, which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, has hosted a summer beer garden in the mall for the past two years.

“We pride ourselves on offering a wide variety of beer styles at all times and love helping customers find one they love,” said Matt Elder, Founder and Chairman of Untold Brewing, in a statement. “We are constantly innovating and experimenting, and we will be able to push the boundaries of our brewing program even further with our new R&D brewhouse in Hingham. »

Untold, which opened in Scituate in 2017, first announced in June that it would be opening a second location year-round. It will be the first brick-and-engine restaurant for Clandestine Kitchen, which will serve a “delicious menu of comfort foods, healthy options and limited specials” under the direction of Chef Annemarie Stenfors.

“We’ve developed a fiercely loyal fanbase here on the South Shore who appreciate our commitment to clean, healthy meals that use local, seasonal ingredients,” said Courtney Doyle, Founder and Owner of Clandestine Kitchen. “Our menu will build on our favorite recipes and feature exciting new items designed to pair with Untold beer.”

The original location of the Scituate Brewery is inside a renovated 1852 schoolhouse in Scituate, and the new bar will have a similar feel and recognizable look. The 2,300 square foot space will feature a mix of seating and standing space.

In an interview last summer, Elder said Hingham was their second biggest market behind their hometown of Scituate. Mike Dyer, co-owner and vice-president of Untold Brewing, said he is constantly experimenting with new types of beer and said much of the menu is influenced by what their customers like to drink.

Untold will offer a diverse selection of their beers on tap, including special small-batch versions brewed on-site and available exclusively from the Hingham site. Customers can also purchase packaged beer, making it the only location in Derby Street Shops that offers takeaway sales of alcoholic beverages.

The new venue will open its doors in the coming days for a series of private parties and public “pre-opening” days before its official opening scheduled for Friday, November 11. The restaurant and brasserie will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday. to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
